Our 1st Baker Baker in Term 2 was a little bit different. The children had to work in a groups to decorate a giant Gingerbread Man donated by @bakeaton Then, the children had to share out the biscuit! It was messy, it was crazy and it was fun

On the 10th May, we earned some “bragging” rights. Some DUT students came to do a lesson on rubbish and recycling. We do not take lightly to litter at Makabongwe, and we are very proud to have such a clean School. they had to bring in their own rubbish. Thank you again for teaching our children the importance of recycling. 🫶🏽🌈🌞

What a special and beautiful morning we had on Mother’s day! 🌸🫶🏽🌸 There are so many amazing people to thank for making this such a wonderful experience! Our faithful Aunty Melissa for making 200 cupcakes and @bakeaton for the ingredients. @jhcprojects for sponsoring the hotdogs. @the_glenwood_bakery for the cake and croissants @zolekamkhabela @cathy.pryor.35 Sylvia Ester and @tenchapp for giving so generously towards spoiling all these women! To the dedicated teachers and staff who helped set up, cook breyani for over 100 people getting the classes to perform and helping to clean up. What a fabulous team effort. Indeed God lives at Makabongwe

On this day which was long but good. Awesome carport Sand company came and put awnings on our kitchen and tuck-shop. and ! Thank you to @awesomecarportsand for quick and efficient service! Our children can now get their food come rain 🌧️ or sunshine ☀️

We had the honour of hosting a tea to say thank you. Thank you to the people who give so generously to our children. The GRINDROD team, The SOUTHEY team, the ELECTRICAL contractors team! To new friends – Sophie from Sweden and Chantell and Vichelle from JMC and to our Neighbour Nosisa for joining us. Thank you to the Governing Body who give tirelessly of their time to the School. Thank you to the teachers who I am blessed to be working besides and to the staff who help whenever it is needed always smiling and ready to go. How great to be a part of this amazing team!

Father’s Day at School – We sang, we danced, we cooked, we cleaned. The parents got a great meal made by some amazing staff members. Dirks butchery donated dry wors. Rosie made delicious chocolate crunchies. Wendy from one sure donated cupcakes! The teachers worked hard to put on the show and our team came together again 🫶🏽🙌🏽🙏🏼 THANK YOU to all involved to make this day happen 💪🏽

MAKABONGWE’s winter warmth campaign for 2023 was a huge success! Each child got new pjs donated from Paul Jacobs. A blanket donated from Andrew and Hillary MacDonald and a hand made beanie and snood from Joy Well-Beloved and her knitting team! What a great way to end Term 2! Happy Holidays everyone
