THE CHRISTMAS PARTY WITHOUT THE GIVERS
For 3 years, Danville Park Girls High School have made up Christmas boxes for the children at Makabongwe all filled with treats, some edible, some practical, some wearable and others just fun!!
We usually choose a suitable day and the busses arrive with much excitement from everyone – Makabongwe children, staff and Danville young ladies alike.
There’s also the hot dog lunch, chips, sweets and juice treat and lots of lots of photos.
This year was different.
A bakkie arrived groaning under the weight of all the shoe boxes so beautifully decorated. In fact, it made multiple trips to get all the boxes delivered to the school.
Instead of being labelled with a specific child’s name, the boxes were packed unisex to be distributed to the children, regardless of their age or gender.
So we didn’t get to meet our donors, we didn’t get to sing, dance and play together or showcase some of the concert items, like our rhymes and poems BUT the children were so happy to receive their gifts.
THANK YOU DANVILLE PARK GIRLS HIGH SCHOOL for making a difference and making the children feel so special even in your absence.
A special thank you to Mrs Lyn Campbell who co-ordinates and drives this Christmas campaign.
We can only share our photo memories with you so until we meet again in 2021, MERRY CHRISTMAS to you one and all.
