Mr and Mrs Peter and Portia Kelly

On MONDAY 9th July Peter and Portia were legally married.

On MONDAY 6th August we had our own Makabongwe wedding celebration with them.

Our bride and groom entered the BIG SHED to the tune of “Here Comes the Bride” and then sat in chairs of honour in front of the children.

We shared with the children what marriage is all about, and why people get married and how they should behave when they are married.

Sibahle and Zethu – our Social Work students sang 2 beautiful songs – 1 a worship song and the other a Zulu love song.

We prayed together and read from the BIBLE, 1 Corinthians Ch 13 Jesus’ words and advice about LOVE.

After our special indoor gathering, we all went outdoors to sit under our shade port and enjoy “wedding cake” :blue icing for the boys and pink icing for the girls which Portia and Peter cut and served to the children.

Enjoy learning a little more about our MAKABONGWE BRIDE and GROOM…..

“I have the same special memory of sitting in front of the children.”

PORTIA : Share 1 special memory of your wedding day

“When we were sitting in front of the children at school and listening to the Bible verse in Corinthians about love. “

1 Corinthians Ch 13 vs. 4,-8 & 13

Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonour others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails.

…and now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.
