MAN’S BEST FRIEND – A DOG

We had 3 very special visitors at Makabongwe on Friday 9th March

Nokwazi Mlotshwa from SA Guide Dog Association came with Kalaisrani Chetty and her best friend, Eddie.

Our children gave them a warm Makabongwe welcome.

Nokwazi shared some interesting facts about guide dogs and explained to the children their purpose.

The SA Guide Dog Association was establish in South Africa in 1953.

Their Durban offices are just around the corner from the school.

DID YOU KNOW?

It costs R100 000.00 to train a guide dog

DID YOU KNOW?

A visually impaired person only pays R5.00 for their dog.

Eddie was impeccably behaved as were the Makabongwe children.

The children were fascinated to learn that although Eddie was only 4 years old, he was actually 28!!

It was a pleasure to give them a donation of R1500.00 which had been collected by the children and committee members.
