WHEN THERE IS AN EMERGENCY – MAKABONGWE CHILDREN KNOW WHO TO CALL

Inspector Jacques Fourie of the Durban Metropolitan Police Service, Public
Relations Office Central is always a welcome guest at Makabongwe.
Today, MONDAY 30th October, he came to hand out Excellence certificates to
the children who had passed the Emergency Number test.
To add to the fun of the morning, three Grade R learners, Amanda from Yellow
Birds, Jenovic from Yellow Bees and Abigail from Yellow Butterflies all
sorted the emergency numbers by placing the cards in the correct order
031-3610000
There was much excitement, cheering and clapping and very proud recipients
of their certificates.
Every child in the school was given the correct number printed in bold
writing to display somewhere in their homes for all to see.
Equipping these children with life skills like this could literally one day
safe a life or lives.
We are very grateful to the Metropolitan Police Service and especially
Inspector Fourie who has won the trust and confidence of our children and
taught them important and valuable life lessons.
