I think we had the most rain this day in the whole year but NOTHIHG and I mean NOTHING was going to dampen our spirits or spoil our Sports Day Adventure at Glenwood High School
We arrived in the pouring rain, we left in the pouring rain and we completed all our obstacles courses and events in the pouring rain but NO ONE seemed to mind, least of all the children.
The Glenwood Team were nothing short of amazing.
They simply moved the events INDOORS and UNDERCOVER.
All the teams got to participate in all the events, and the day was concluded by a welcome cup of juice and a delicious hot dog. The children slept at school on returning and no doubt that evening at home as well.
It was a tremendous day of fun, laughter, new adventures and the opportunity for our children to visit a real BIG school.
Here’s to the heroes of the day, Ms Foster and the GLENWOOD MEN who worked tirelessly and with such enthusiasm ensuring the Makabongwe children had a day to remember for a long time.
I have it from a reliable source that some GLENWOOD learners who were thinking of going into education have been converted. Our children managed to exhaust some of the finest and fittest Glenwood scholars and organisers! They are now re-thinking their choice of careers.
